Southeast Queensland's rail heritage...
The Brisbane area is home to several steam operated rail museums, rail tour groups,
tourist railways, museums and historic sites. As well, there are a number of tramway
and other sites of historic interest and the beginnings of Queensland's 2' (610mm)
gauge railways. Add into the mix the several model railroad organisations, historical
societies, rail fan groups, annual exhibitions, etc., and Southeast Queensland has
something for almost any heritage rail fan.
