The Museum's primary focus is on the gold mining activities of the District. Displays include an exhibit on modern gold mining by Gympie Eldorado Gold Mines , a gold panning area, stamper shed and batteries, head frame and other buildings from the #2 South Great Eastern shaft, now used as an air vent to the current underground workings.
Other exhibits of interest include two logging trucks, one of which is a Bedford, fitted with a log winder and last used in the 1960s, and an early timber getters hut from the Tin Can Bay area..
