    QR's volumteer program is made up of a large group of people living throughout Queensland who, in their spare time, assist QR with it's heritage activities. QR Hweitage Volunteer groups have been established in Brisbane, Rockhapton, Gladstone, Townsville and Monto.
    QR Heritage Volunteers assist QR with QR's heritage activities in such roles as cosmetic restoration of items for displays, participating in displays promoting QR Heritage, assistance in preservation of items of QR Heritage significance and assisting in the operation of vintage train tours.
    QR Heritage Volunteers also assist QR staff in relation to special projects from time to time.
