Pacific National Queensland
Pacific National is Australia's largest private rail freight operator, operating trains in all states and territories, and provides locomotives and train crew services for Great Southern Railway's Indian Pacific, Ghan and Overland passenger trains..

In August 2003 Pacific National announced that it had won a contract to haul stone aggregate 90 kilometres from Bromelton to the Port of Brisbane. In 2005 they commenced freight operations on the Brisbane-Cairns North Coast Line.
While PN's ownership evolves from the original joint venture (260 Kb pdf), QR's rail freight monopoly in Queensland is unlikely to return.

Details on Pacific National's website. You can also find more images of PN equipment via the PN web site link.
