The ASCR locomotive and rolling stock collection has been limited to what the Society can restore and maintain. Restoration is primarily financed by the income from the weekly train operations in the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens and depends on vounteer labour.
The regular maintenance of existing equipment is also a priority and ASCR volunteers have assisted with maintenance work for other Queensland museum operators.
In 2005 ex-Moreton Mill Valdora returned to service on the ASCR and 2007 saw the restoration of Invicta to operating service. BCF No 1 will be the next major restoration project, but this will likely be delayed until the extension is completed.
