QLD 2016 Sustainability Award
The Archer Park Rail Museum in Rockhampton was announced the Winner of the Queensland 2016 Gallery and Museum Achievement Awards (GAMAA) for its outstanding achievement in the category of Sustainability: Organisations Volunteer Run for its project Revitalisation of Archer Park Rail Museum (see photo right). Rail Heritage: Queensland & Beyond
The Archer Park Rail Museum and the Friends of Archer Park maintain links with other organisations in order to share experiences and promote rail heritage.

Archer Park Volunteers
Most of the people working at the museum are volunteers (Friends of Archer Park Station and Steam Tram Museum Inc). Friends' activities include managing the museum on behalf of Rockhampton Regional Council; restoring, maintaining and operating the collection; staffing the refreshment room, sausage sizzles and souvenir sales to help raise funds for operating the museum, etc.
We welcome your support and donations.
General meetings of the Friends will normally be at the Museum at 12:30 pm on the fourth Tuesday of every month.
