Late in 2008 the FRIENDS initiated a social history project to record the recollections of ex-railroaders, their families and others involved in rail heritage.

Initial interviews were conducted with Bill Head and Blair Jamieson, both ex-QR employees who retired in Rockhampton and are now FRIENDS members.
